Here is my back yard

Standard

This is looking out from the Half Room / Half Patio. I think it looks like a dance floor. Its a big back yard.

Here we are moving to the right of the back yard. Now we would love to buy this house some day. I would love to add on the the house. For one it only has one bathroom. And with 2 girls, My husband and I it’s not easy. But we do manage šŸ™‚

There is a big shed in the back against the back fence. It has no doors on it so we just store out side things in it.

Now here is where I want to plant my garden. I have never had a garden. My friends bought a house down the street from me and they are doing a garden this year. So I’m going to study, Google everything I can about gardening. I also want to grow herbs. I will keep you posted on how my gardening goes.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read my blog. Have and awesome weekend.

Some new things for my Kitchen

Standard

Now here is my flat Whisk! I have wanted one since I seen the Pioneer Woman using it. Ā I’m so sorry not a good picture. I have a better picture coming šŸ™‚ It was $11.95.

I had received an email from Sur La Table they are having a clearance sale and I had to go get some goodies! So I had heard that you are supposed to keep olive oil in a dark place. So I found this beautiful olive oil holder. I was going to get the white one but it was not on sale. The man at the counter said the white and red ones never go on sale šŸ˜¦ By the way it looks yellow but it is green šŸ™‚ It was $11.99.

Then I bought this beautiful blue baking dish or a dish to serve with. It is 12 x 8. It is dishwasher safe, Microwave safe and oven safe. It is made of stone. And it is very beautiful šŸ™‚

See how beautiful it is? I also love how deep it is. Now maybe when I bake like Mac n Cheese it will not over flow in my oven.Ā Ā It was $12.99.

Here is the last thing I got. It’s a baking dish 14 x 8.5. It is green it matches the olive oil holder. Again I love that it is deep. Now this one is a little moreĀ fragile. You can’t just put hot or cold stuff in it. But Ā I lived it any ways. It was $14.96.

Just another look from above it see how deep it is šŸ™‚

Here is a better looking picture of the whisk. It seems like it would be muchĀ easier to keep clean.

Now you can see the color better on the olive oil holder šŸ™‚

And this is the bag it all come in. It was a fun day my husband came to get me for lunch and we went to Sur La Table.

I hope you enjoyed my blog. Have a great week.

Teriyaki Chicken with Mac n Cheese

Standard

Here is the Teriyaki Chicken. I put chicken thighs and 2 chicken breast. I started them frozen. Then I put so minced garlic, brown sugar and some Teriyaki sauce. Put it in theĀ crock pot all day on low. And it turned out so good.

In a lg bowl I grated Cheddar cheese, Monterey Jack cheese and Mozzarella cheese.

In 3 small bowls I put 2 table spoons of flour, In the next bowl I put 1 egg, in the third bowl I put salt, pepper and dry mustard.

In a lg bowl I put about 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 cups of milk.

My pasta is cooked and drained awaiting the cheese sauce. In the next pot I have started my cheese sauce. I melted some butter then I put a small amount of minced garlic in the butter. Then I added the flour after a few min. I added the cold milk. After it heated up I put in the salt, pepper and dry mustard. After it is hot I took a soupĀ ladleĀ and added the hot sauce to the egg slowly. Ā Then I added the egg to the sauce. Ā I stirred it for a few more min. then I added the 3 cheeses to the sauce. And of course I had to try it and it was so yummy!!

I poured the cheese sauce on the pasta.

I buttered this dish and poured the mac n cheese in it. The dish was a little small and it started over flowing. So I took some out and Tiffany, Tony and I ate it.

I had saved some cheese to put on top before I baked it.

350 degrees and 20 min later this is what came out of the oven.

To go with the Teriyaki Chicken I cut and cooked in some oil and butter an onion and 1 huge red bell pepper.

Then I added some crushed pineapple about 3 table spoons to it after the onions and peppers were cooked all the way.

And here it is all on the plate. My husband loved it! Well they all did my son and daughters.

Thank you so much for reading my blog I hope you enjoyed it.

The Sun Set from my front yard

Standard

Now I have always love the silhouette of the black trees at Sun set with the white moon and a bright planet. I think it would have been more vivid if there would not have been any cars coming toward me.

Here is one with out the car! And now you can see the moon and planet.

It’s getting a little darker. I love how the trees look black against the blue / white sky at Sun set.

Now it’s much darker but still beautiful!

Thank you for taking time out of you busy day to read my blog have an awesome day.

The 2 side dishes to go with my Mamma’s Lasagna

Standard

First you put some butter in a sauce pan after it is melted put a bag of frozen corn in.

Just stir it around get some melted butter on as much as you can while frozen.

Then you put a lid on it and turn it down to med. heat. Keep an eye on it so it will not burn. I would say check it about every 5 min or so and give it a stir.

When it’s done you can season it with what ever you like. We like garlic salt and lemon pepper. And the corn is ready to serve.

Next comes the garlic bread. First I put Raw or Minced garlic in softened butter. Mix well.

Then I spread it on some sourdough bread.

Then I sprinkle some Parmesan Cheese on them and bake them at 350 for 5 to 8 min depending how toasty you want them. Then I turn on the broiler to high and let it broil for about 1 1/2 min or until golden brown.

This is how we like it! My family loves the garlic bread.

I hope you like this blog. I know you already know how to make corn and garlic bread. Just had to put it because they go so good with Lasagna.

My Mamma’s Lasagna

Standard

Here is every thing we are having for dinner. Lasagna, Corn and Garlic Bread. Well all the in ingredients. Here is the recipe:

1 box of Lasagna Noodles

1 or 2 lbs of hamburger ( or what ever you would like )

Garlic ( as much as you like ) put it in while frying the hamburger

1 can of sliced olives

Cottage Cheese

Spaghetti Sauce

Cheese

Cover with foil

Bake at 425 for 45 min.

First put some garlic in the pan with the hamburger and fry it.

Then drain the hamburger and while you are frying the hamburger you can

Grate the cheese. Now I usedĀ CheddarĀ and Jack Cheese.

Here the Lasagna Noodles are cooking.

Now I got whole black olives and I sliced them to save money.

I just had to show you my Pampered Chef can opener. I love it!!! It works great.

Here is the Cottage Cheese. I have to tell on my self. I opened the Cottage Cheese and stirred it and I seen these little Yellow things in there and it was pineapple. But I used it anyway and you could notĀ tasteĀ it.

After I saw the Pineapple I read the name on it just a little to late!

Here is my work station.

Here we go!

Put some sauce on the bottom of the dish.

Just spread it all over the bottom of the dish.

Lay the Noodles on the sauce.

Put more sauce on the noodles.

Then put some hamburger. I make 2 layers so I use half of the hamburger on both layers.

Then you sprinkle on the olives.

Now the Cottage Cheese. I just put some on it and then spread it around with a spoon.

Here comes the Cheese.

After the Cheese spread more sauce on the cheese. Do the same for the next layer Noodles, Hamburger, Olives, Cottage Cheese, Cheese and Sauce. For the top cover the last layer with the noodles, the rest of the sauce, the rest of the olives and the rest of the cheese.

After you bake it at 425 for 45 min. this is what it looks like. And itĀ taste even better!

Thank you so much for reading my blog. Have an awesome weekend.

4th of July Jello Cake

Standard

Years ago I went to a cookie party and one of the goodies they had was a Jello Cake. Ā I loved it and had to share it with my family. And they loved it! It is so cool and refreshing.

1 box of cake mix ( white or yellow )

1 lg box of Jello ( any color or flavor you like ) or

2 sm boxes ( with 2 different colors or flavors )

1 Cool Whip

1 lg spoon with a big handle ( hahaha )

So you bake the cake as directed. Let it cool. After it is cool off take the handle of a large utensil and poke holes all over about 2 inches apart. Now if you use 2 small boxes put 1 cup of hot water and 1 cup to cold water. Stir and pour over half of the cake. Then do the same with the other small box. Stir and pour over the other half of the cake. For the large JelloĀ  in a bowl put 2 cups of hot water and 2 cups of cold water then add the jello to the water. Stir then pour that over the cake with the holes in it then put it in theĀ refrigeratorĀ for about 2 hour or longer if you can. Then cover the top with the cool whip. At this point you can add fruit like I did or what ever you like. It will be so good!!!

Thank you for taking the time to read my blog I hope you enjoyed it.

Dutch Oven

Standard

Ok I’m so excited I got my first Dutch Oven Yesterday šŸ™‚ I have been wanting one for so long. My husband and kids know this so the other day Tiffany told my husband that she had seen the pot Mom was looking for in a store that she walked by in down town Walnut Creek. And that the pot she wants is on sale. So after we dropped Brittany off at work yesterday at 7:30am. Tony took me down town Walnut Creek to find this store. And there it was right next door to P F Changs. Sur la table I have to tell you I love this store I have never been there. I will be back.

This is the box it came in.

Isn’t it just so beautiful? Well I think so šŸ™‚ Now I have never seen this brand before it’s La Cocotte Staub made in France. There were 3 colors this one dark red, blue and gray/black.

It’s a 4 Qt pot. And it’s very heavy!

This is the inside. The lady at the store said you can wash it with soap. It has some kind of Ā coating on it.

They say the little bumps are for when the water evaporates it will fall back on the food all over. Not like when you pick up the lid and all the water gets all over the floor or everywhere but the pot. Ā So looking forward to using it.

Just another picture of the inside. I will let you know the first dish I make in it šŸ™‚ In fact I will blog the dinner that I make with it.

Here is showing how deep it is.

Oh yes the reason I chose this color is because you can see the detail the words and lines. I did like the blue one but you could not see the words like you can on this one. So I will be keeping my eye out for sales at Sur La Table. I want to get more and I want them allĀ different colors. I’m looking forward to getting some Le Creuset dutch ovens.

Thank you for taking the time to read my blog. I hope you enjoyed it šŸ™‚ Have an awesome day!!!
